What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We collect personal information about you when you voluntarily submit information directly to us when you access our website. This can include information you provide to us when you register for an account, fill in a form, correspond with us via the website, email or otherwise, subscribe to our mailing list or other forms of marketing communications, or purchase a product or products through our website.
If you choose not to provide personal information, we may not be able to respond to your request.
We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to ship an order, process your payment, send you an email about your purchase, etc.

We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and users with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers for the purposes outlined above.
We will not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the Website, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact Forms, Blog Freebies or Mailing List Opt-in
From time-to-time you may be prompted to enter your name and email address to receive free content (free online email courses, signing up for the mailing list, receiving a free download from a blog post on our site, etc.). Completing these forms is completely voluntary and you may choose whether or not to participate and therefore disclose this information.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Information that we share with others

- Stripe: We accept payments through Stripe. When processing payments, some user data will be passed to Stripe, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information. Please see the Stripe Privacy Policy for more details.
- WooCommerce: WooCommerce is the WordPress eCommerce platform that we use to process orders. When you are purchasing a product, some data will be passed to WooCommerce, including information required to fulfill your order, such as your name, billing address, shipping address, product(s) purchased, the status of your transaction, your receipt, your username on our site, your email address, your IP address and the PayPal transaction associated with the purchase. - Drip/Leadpages: We email customers using Drip and Leadpages (hereinafter collectively, “Drip”). When you purchase a product or products, your name and email address will be added to Drip to be used when we send emails regarding your course and future mailing list emails. You will also be added to our email list if you explicitly give consent while filling out a contact form, or when entering an email address in exchange for free content. Drip saves information such as your email address, name, IP address, timezone, user behaviour (such as page visits and purchase activity) and certain identifying tags (such as “Let’s Start Lettering Student” or “Blog Freebie Opt-In” or “Course Opt-Out”) that help best tailor the appropriate emails that should or should not be sent to you, a list of which emails were sent and the actions that you took on those emails (for example, opened, clicked on a link, etc.). You can unsubscribe to these emails at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link found in these emails or by emailing your request to amanda@amandaarneill.com. - LearnDashLMS: We use LearnDashLMS to host our online courses. The LearnDash plugin stores a user’s course progress, including completion status, quiz scores, assignments and/or essay submissions (if applicable). Also, WordPress stores comments on courses, lessons, topics, assignments, and essays if these features are activated in a particular course. LearnDash does not store the email address (or any personal information) as part of the course progress. They only store the course, lesson, topic and quiz IDs. The LearnDash plugin also stores transaction data when payments are processed through PayPal. When processing payments some data will be passed on to PayPal, including information required to process or support the payment, such as email address, purchase total, and billing information. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personally identifiable information.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
