SUPPLIES AND SECRETS

Hands down, I love all things Tombow. Those are the pens that I use in all of my courses and you can get them on Amazon or at tombowusa.com (in Canada or the States).

My favourite pens are:

the Tombow Fudenosuke hard nib pen (the perfect beginner pen)
the Tombow Fudenosuke soft nib pen (for looser lettering)
the Tombow Dual Brush pen (for larger lettering)

WHAT PRINTER DO YOU USE FOR YOUR WORK?

That can sort of be like asking someone for their secret sauce or age (yes, I can drink, no, I don’t get senior citizen discounts). So I will tell you this, I do most of my printing with local, professional printers. If you’re looking for a printer, you can find a great printer by creating a sample piece, having it printed by a few different places and then doing a cost/quality comparison to see which one works best for you. It can take a long time to find awesome printers to work with, but I promise you, it’s totally worth it!

HOW DID YOU GET CONNECTED WITH THE COMPANIES THAT YOU WORK FOR?

It’s just me over here, I don’t have a rep or a manager or any other fancy stuff like that (I do have a house cleaning who comes twice a month but I don’t think that counts). So here’s the secret of what I did… I practiced. I practiced and I shared and I changed and I got better. My goal has always been to develop my own style and push myself and, without me going after them, because of that, companies have come to me. It is a huge blessing and I am over the moon to work with each of the amazing companies I’ve become connected with like STABILO, Silhouette America, and Tombow.

I PRETTY MUCH WANT TO DO WHAT YOU DO, CAN YOU TEACH ME ALL OF YOUR SECRETS?

I actually get asked that a lot!! And yes, I do teach my secrets. I struggled when I first started creating my courses because I’m essentially creating my own competition, but I fully believe that lettering has had such a positive powerful impact on my life that I want to be able to share that with you too. But I don’t give away my secrets for free. Those are things that only my students get access too. You can get some of the secrets from my blog or email list (PS – the emails have more secrets than the blog), but the whole shebang is in a course. WHEN I SIGN UP FOR YOUR COURSE, HOW QUICKLY DO I NEED TO FINISH IT?

CAN’T I LEARN THIS STUFF ON YOUTUBE FOR FREE?

I’m sure that some people try to do that and they think that they are getting all of the knowledge that they need, but YouTube videos don’t guarantee the success that thousands of students have seen with my courses. Not only do I teach you the techniques that you need to be awesome at the skills in each course, but I give you insights into things to watch out for, short-cuts to use, when you can’t take a shortcut and tips and tricks to make your work way better than anyone who is self-taught or learned from random videos on YouTube.

The other thing is that I’m a trained teacher. With over a decade teaching in the education system and a Masters degree in Curriculum Development, not only can will you learn the skills but you will be able to follow comprehensive, clear and detailed steps that have been designed by an educator, not another jo-schmo.

WHAT DO I GET WITH YOUR COURSE?

Each course is an online course that primarily teach through professionally produced video modules. Each module has is made up of a series of lessons that you can work through at your own pace. Along with each of the courses, there are printable cheatsheets, worksheets, letter guides, workbooks or other course materials to make you 100% successful by the time that you finish the course. The videos are there to help teach you the skills and the downloadable printables are there to ensure that you master them.

DO YOU EVER HAVE SALES?
